Would you forego a seat on a shortish flight if it meant lower fares? Ryanair were considering this a while back.

Yep
No
Was a bit surprised when booking Jet2com recently had to pay £6.50 - £9.50 for my seat!
I would have thought that this is a non-starter !
No. Although if Ryanair bring it in we might have no choice.
How inconvenient us passengers must be, for airlines only interested in making profits !
No, I get bored witless in planes and the comforts are quite few as it is, now they want me to stand!! I will choose another method of travel or stay home!

At least they didn't introduce the coin in the slot toilets they were talking about. We should be thankful for small mercies.
Beware, one of the budget airlines wanted to force passengers to use the outside toilet.
Definitely not. I don't even fly economy unless I have no option - and experience has taught me not to fly Ryanair so whether they adopt the plan or not is irrelevant to me.
This would be a serious air safety breach as in the case of an emergency, passengers without seats would not have access to oxygen and could also cause congestion in case of an emergency evacuation.
I think this is a giant wind-up....almost fake news !
Surely a joke, you can't eat you're dinner standing up :-)
Pretty sure it is Mikey.
Some people stand on a train for an hour every morning for full -price!
Mexican....good point !
anneasquith.a ryan air dinner ?it would be almost (probably more )than the cost of the flight ,never mind it dubious quality
No, definitely not. I can't stand still for longer than about 15/20mins. without being in agony from my back.
Still don't know how Jet2.com can get away with charging me up to £19 for a return seat.
The point of the brace position is to protect the head in an emergency landing/crash. You wouldn't be able to do that when standing up. The thought of all of those injuries caused by flailing heads doesn't bear thinking about.
