They truly are the skinheads of the insect world.
So have the mosquitoes.
No hayfever.
We had loads around the wheely bins for a couple of weeks and then....nothing. I think they're planning something so I'm not letting my guard down until we get a few consecutive days below zero. :)
i still managed to get bitten by some insect on my ight foot about 4 days ago.very painful and swollen.

now i have a bit of a right limp to go with my left arm. what is going to be next?
Didn't have wasps here, but clouds of midges today on the TPT!
I had a wasps nest in the cavity wall under my bedroom widow.........the pest control man said the first good frost should kill them off.
My condolences, craft

oh gawd, don't believe him, get it removed craft
Well I was quite happy to pay him £69 to come out and get rid of it, but he said at this time of year I'd be wasting my money.

I have a wasp phobia, craft, you are brave, shut all windows
The cleaner used to run out of the bedroom saying there was a wasp, which I just used to kill and thought nothing of it. I didn't even realise there was a nest there until the window cleaner told me...............
.... and soon the grass will stop growing
The gardener hasn't been for a month because of all the rain. He's coming next week to cut back the leylandii................
Pest control officer told me that wasps die off in winter and never return to an old nest. If they all die off, where do the new ones come from?
Craft - you have a cleaner and a gardener? Lucky you.
Their new nest Maggie. :P
I'm not lucky Maggie..............I have to pay them!
Ah well crafty, there's always a downside.
The colour of the trees. I booked a couple of weeks off work, had a lot of holidays to use up before Christmas. Out on the bicycle every day hurtling through the forests of Co. Cavan. The colours and smell of late Autumn are fantastic. Better than any high you could get from a dodgy geezer in a tracksuit on a street corner of a council estate.
