Has the editor decided to ration out the available number of thread spaces on here, like allotted parking spaces? Or has there been an end times plague that wiped out all the old adversaries?
Most strange.

Maybe s/he is keeping a tag on god botherers ;-)
Clicking on a topic heading goes,by default, to the 'Most Recent' tab for that subject, which only displays activity from the past month.
Maybe just that circular arguments are wearing and pointless. Just not worth the effort.
Question Author
What circular arguments?
Go back to the very beginning and tell me about the origin of the universe.
WE JUST DONT KNOW - that does not satisfy me, or the rubbishy preached by atheists like Dawkins and Hawking.
Theland, //WE JUST DONT KNOW//

That's the most sensible thing I've ever seen you say.
Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos, would have found three ample.
// Or has there been an end times plague that wiped out all the old adversaries? //

end of times heralds the end of times and not the end of the week,
or the end of Call of Duty

so that should be the last reason and not the first ( alpha and omega, geddit? )

People run out of things to say, after 2 500 y ?
I mean it is not as tho the NT is added to, week after week, like a Dickens novel or something
Didn't Brigham Young( and Brigham nubile and in large numbers) find more material inscribed on plates of gold?
What?
The Book of Mormon, additions to the OT and NT?
Joseph Smith?
That's the man, yes. I should have Googled before answering.
Right. Not sure about additions to the Old and New Testaments though. That would be a matter of... erm ... faith.
Yeah. Joseph Smith received the later books of the Bible. Hence the name "Latter Day Saints".

The new chapters were printed on the golden plates he found and translated using a special stone he read by looking at it in his hat. Nobody else ever saw the stone or the golden plates but it made it clear that the Israelites went to Utah which was the true Promised Land.

Makes perfect sense doesn't it? Or about as much sense as the rest of it anyway.
So, when he went out to spread the word was he talking through his hat?
beso, several people claimed to have seen the plates - and to avoid confusion none of what they allegedly contained is in the Bible. It's all in the Book of Mormon.
Proof once again that people can (and often do) believe in any kind of nonsense they damn well please . . . in spite of any and all evidence or reason to the contrary.

Yes and the Mormons believe that their book was the next instalment of the Bible.
And so DeAgostini was born! :)
