Nooo.... not you. ;O)

Does anyone remember back in the Dark Ages about a hundred years ago - or at least it feels like that sometimes - when we could award one, two or three stars to answers on our own threads? I mentioned it on another thread the other day and I seem to be the only one who remembers it. I'm sure I've not been dreaming.

Dave, sometimes people have very good reason for changing their username…. and then again some wouldn’t be allowed back here unless they did….

Jno, can you remember how those varying fonts worked? Did we choose the one we wanted or did the system just surprise us?
I didn't notice them at all at the time, naomi. Maybe shrinking the text was a later space-saving measure, which sounds daft but I can think of no other explanation. There was a colour palette available.

I'm sure there was a typeface / font selector too.

I can’t say I noticed them at the time, Jno.

I don’t remember that, zacs.
my post at 13.33 links to a description of how to get colours, bold, italic, invisible etc, with a note that it was only available on Internet Explorer, not Firefox. There's no mention of choosing a different type size, and I don't ever recall doing that (because why would anyone want their post to be tiny?), which is why I'm guessing that it was done retrospectively in a redesign. But that's just a guess.

What happened to the badges? I don’t think we knew they were being abandoned did we? They just quietly disappeared. I always thought that a daft idea anyway.
Can we still do italics?
yes but by golly they're tricky.
