Believers often accuse atheists of having something missing because they are not interested in believing in deities. The evidence points to the opposite as many believers appear to be searching for something that they cannot find yet most atheists seem to be content with atheism and complete in themselves spiritually.

Jim, //I'm not convinced that it's possible for anyone to be both Christian and to have "no problem with evolution" unless you don't understand at least one of those things properly. //

I agree - but I know Christians and Muslims who wonkily square it by claiming that all living creatures have evolved - except human beings. God made them just as we see them today.
Adam and Eve might well have been intelligent monkeys.
Impossible. Man didn't evolve from monkeys - but I think you knew that. ;o)
Are Lucy and the other East African early ancestors not close to monkeys? Or are you saying there's no propinquity?

Sandy, I'm sure that your priest will have explained evolution to you, how could an atheist possibly do a better job than an agent of the lord.
