pahahahaaa ... please don't tell me you expected people to be in awe at this? maybe even start to question their atheism because of it?

its nonsense and wishful thinking

I know a fervent theist and when he meets you his first words are " Hello I'm a Christian ! " and a few years ago his wife was diagnosed with cancer . She was admitted to hospital where the growth was removed and he prayed fervently for her recovery. It was successful and he claimed it was his prayers that were the main reason. Which he proceeded to tell everyone whom he met as positive proof of the power of prayer. However a year later the cancer came back with a vengeance and despite more fervent praying for her recovery she died within a month.

Now you would think that whatever his beliefs that would have shaken them , but no, he was more fervent than ever. He now claims all his prayers had been answered, she was now " In the arms of Jesus in a far better place ".

I should add he had the vicar , all the congregation of his church , plus a bible group who meet up during the week , adding their prayers and support . Result ! Nothing apart from giving him some solice.
Modeller, if they genuinely believed that, why admit her to hospital?
I'm not sure who ' they ' are but I've often wondered why theists bother with medication at all . For that matter why even bother with prayer because according to many theists our fate is ordained .

Indeed it is. I sometimes feel that prayer won't change anything but our own attitude.
Modeller, it is god's gift of 'free will' that puts the spanner in the works. He tells us what to do, we excercise the 'free will he has given us, so we go to hell for disobeying him. The soviet union did the same trick and they were atheists, allegedly.
When babies around the world are sick and dying, why would a loving God give power to Popes to enact a cure on a single nun?

This not only does not make sense but it certainly does not show a loving attitude towards other sick people...
Current Popes conferring so called sainthood on other Popes is like giving yourself a medal...
The scriptures state that health benefits will apply to all...but not just yet...
(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
This has to apply to ALL who are properly obedient...to what Jesus taught.
(John 13:15) For I set the pattern for you, that just as I did to you, you should also do.
(Luke 4:43) But he said to them: “I must also declare the good news of the Kingdom of God to other cities, because for this I was sent.”
(Acts 20:20) while I did not hold back from telling you any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching you publicly and from house to house.
NO RC has come to my door.
And who would blame them for avoiding you like the plague.
I've a copy of May's edition of the Watchtower at hand, it would seem to me, that May is quote (or mis-quote) John and Revelations month,
with a bit of Genesis and Deuteronomy and Romans added to the pot)
