Toilet Roll

After hearing that Cliff Richard was alleged to say that it annoyed him because they had the toilet roll hanging wrongly - what is the correct way to hand your toilet roll - clockwise or anti-clockwise, and does it really matter?

My wife informs me that toilet roll should be hung with the paper hanging down from the front as this way it does not effect her nail varnish.

I inform her, that if she wants it hung that way, she can hang it that way - I couldn't care less!

I reckon that it should be hung so that it rolls clockwise when looked at from one end and anti-clockwise when looked at from the other. Simple!

I asked this a few months ago apparently it should roll from the front, anyone having it roll from the back is thought of as tight.

It is a very serious consideration and really does matter.

I remember that discussion 4get :-)
Mine is always hung with the paper hanging loose at the front,I have been known to change it to this way in other people's houses too.

loved Ethel's link and of course, it is quite correct.

otherwise you may just lose sight of the end of the roll!

It has to be over the front in posh hotels, so the chamber maid can do a bit of basic origami with the end.

Vic's wife is quite right. Of course it matters. I always insist that ours are correctly positioned, (although I'm not sure why I insist, since it's only me who ever changes them. Whoever heard of a man bothering to reload an empty holder?). However, if I'm out anywhere, as long as there is a toilet roll available, I'm happy!

Oneeyedvic.....if your lady has extra long nails do you have to do her 'honours'. Lots of my customers have those long 'stick on nails' and I do wonder how they manage.

I have to clip my nails to type on here!
