Who recently made the above statement?

Believe it or not, the person who said the above words is Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Even arch-Brexiteer Mogg, must now realise that Brexit has made the UK poorer.

No. He is hinting that the reaction of the EU to a member leaving is giving both of us obstacles for further wealth generation. However we have the rest of the globe to agree deals with, while if the EU were able to do better they would have already done so.

Brexiteers are deluded that they can get trade deals with the rest of the world, which they believe would more than compensate for leaving the EU.

My mate Phil explains why this is a complete fallacy – even on a best case scenario, there is no prospect of this.

Time for Brexiteers to wake to the disaster that Brexit is for the UK.
