Those were the days when I used to tip toe in with shoes in my hand lol
Sqad, this is a real shot in the dark; however, years ago did you ever hear of or come across a Doctor Harold Montgomery?
Shhhhish
stuey....no....sorry.....tell me about him.
sqad - do you feel faint at the sight of blood ?
Bazile.........only my own.
only his.
his original name was squad
He was the Chief of Pathology at the hospital I worked at and therefore my boss in a way. He was very, very British, served in the British Merchant Marine as a ship's Doctor, and later came over here to practice. A really interesting man to talk to, and a lot of his views and opinions seemed to echo yours...Just thought I'd ask.
stewey....no I can't say that I have ever heard of him or met him.

In the 60's doctors emigrating to Australia, New Zealand and particularly USA and Canada was very appealing.
I seriously considered it myself.
//did you ever hear of or come across a Doctor Harold Montgomery?//

Doctor Harold Shipman......?
Sqad, I was wrong about the ship's Doctor bit. Here's an edited obit of his:
Harold (Monty) was born in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England on May 27, 1923.
After completing school, Monty apprenticed at the young age of 17 as a second mate to Port Line Shipping and served four years at sea in the Merchant Navy, during WWII– Following his survival of the war - for which he was forever grateful - Monty studied medicine at the University of London…Their young family quickly grew, and they moved often between England, Scotland and Kuwait– Subsequently, he specialized in Pathology at the University of Edinburgh before emigrating to Canada in 1963. Dr Montgomery was a lecturer at both the University of Edinburgh and the University of Western Ontario, before accepting a position as a Clinical Pathologist at the (cut) General Hospital.
stuey....thanks for that ......"born in Cleethorpes eh?"

I bet that place has produced few Drs as it is a small village/town on the east coast of England.

I wonder which medical school he trained at in London?
That wasn't mentioned in the obituary; just the University of London. He most certainly did not have a Lincolnshire accent...very posh, he was:)
Jenny, sqad is our very own in-house doctor, a real gem who helps with our medical problems, and a connoisseur on ladies lingerie.
I must have missed all the ladies lingerie stuff as not been on this site as long as many! Interesting, but in house reliable doctor he is. Saves many a trip to the doc or Health service I'm sure if truth be told. Hats off to Sqad. That's me for now. How can I hear more about the ladies lingerie, though is hovering in my head!
