Pressure is the application of force over a particular area. In mathematical terms, pressure is equal to force divided by area. With more force comes more pressure, and with more area comes less pressure.

Mamya has anwered the question. Take a single toothpick and apply a given force and burst the balloon. Take 100 toothpicks and apply the same force as before. The force from each toothpick will be 100th of the force from the single toothpick and the balloon remains whole.. hopefully!

I would observe the balloon deforming.
The reason being the toothpicks are pressing on the side of it, and it is flexible.
