Hi, I bought a epsom printer from Sainsburys, the price on the website was giving a £5,00 discount, it didnt say anthing about it being a online discount only, when I went to the store it was the full price of £44.97, when I contacted sainsburys they said "different sized stores mean different operational requirements and it was not discounted instore. Should it not have said that on the website and should I have got the discount?

No.

They're entitled to charge different prices in every store (or even to every customer) if they so wish. Some shops will honour their online prices in their stores but they're not obliged to do so. (After all, the reason that online shopping is often cheaper is precisely because the online operations don't have the overheads that physical stores have).
Just to add to the first answer. I have bought items from Richer Sounds shops where they have actually told me that the price was cheaper online and have charged the lower price.
