Can anyone suggest where I can buy remnants - not necessarily whole balls of wool for making toys

try charity shop's
do you or friends/family, have any old woolies that you can unpick...I used to

do that for mini~me when she was young.

thank you all - off to the charity shops - will make a couple of bids on ebay and have a root through my wardrobe thank you again
I crocheted a double blanket with all my spare wool when I finished knitting as a past-time, and gave all my remnants to a charity shop where they 'flew out of the door', so I would say try them first. Happy knitting !! Woollen toys are very rewarding to make.
you could also try your local freecycle group. I offloaded a big bag of oddments that way not too long ago. Just put a 'wanted' post.

Thank you all - we cruised the charity shops today and have done very well and also ordered some from ebay
