This post is triggered by Sunny Dave calling in on his daily cycle ride and still twittering on about numbers....this led him to when I was born....which day of the week.....

All I know is.....as told to me by my mother who was probably trying to ignore her pregnancy and my birth....

She was serving, as a waitress, for a Burns Night Supper and went into labour......the ambulance came and took her to hospital where I was born on May 29th......

Bloody slow ambulance.....was Dave's reply......

Dave is now sitting on the patio...chuntering away about numbers and how many bank holidays I've had a birthday on.....

This could last longer than my mother's labour...... :-(

Your birth story?........x

I don't recall much, it was all a blur.
I interrupted my mother watching Emmerdale Farm.
downright rude of you Eccles. You should have waited :-)

All I know is I was told that I arrived at 6.20 am
all i remember was my mother screaming ...scared the life outta me!
I had an epidural that didn't work. It paralysed my legs but I felt every contraction. When the midwife finally realised, they checked me and said SORRY, IT'S TOO LATE.

I still hate her :-)
Apparently I was hanging around and not putting in an appearance ... and my Dad was making a nuisance of himself - so he was told to "Go to Molineux - nothing's going to happen yet".

My Mum took a while to forgive him for being absent watching The Wolves at the very moment of my birth ... especially since they lost 3-2 at home to Portsmouth ...
I agree with Dave, Burns Night Supper in May indeed, or is there another Burns of whom I've never heard who has a famous supper?
gness mis-heard.

It was a Burned Dinner Night.
I don't think she ever forgave me Alba, apparently there was a stern exchange of words between Amos and Mr Wilkes and she missed it :-(

All a bit of a blur......I now have an image of Mamya arriving like someone fired out of a cannon....... :-)

Nope.....she insisted it was a Burns Night Dinner......she could just have been a slow waitress I suppose......x
home birth Christmas day..granny fainted , grandad had to make dinner..mince and tatties as that's all he knew how to make !

You were born on Christmas Day, Minty?...Well who knew.......!... ;-)
hmmm..might have mentioned it in passing ! ;0)
The older alba arrived during the evening's episode of Home and Away, as I'd seen the lunchtime episode, that didn't fuss me but I did miss the Olympic diving and swimming.

The younger one, well, the midwife, when I told her I need to push, she told me I couldn't cos I was due to be checked in 15 minutes.
errr, who was in labour?!!

MrG and I were having a meal in Gulliver's in Calgary when I went into labour.......
Alfalfa salad, Beef Welllington and Sherry Trifle.....wasn't missing that but I did put my watch on the table to time the contractions....
This seemed to put them off their food though....I finished my meal.....it's a great place if you visit....if it's still there.....

We had to phone for an ambulance as the snow was really deep so MrG gave me my Health Care card to get me into the hospital ....he would follow when he could get the car through....slowly......
When I got there he'd given me his library card by mistake.....I had to wait in a corridor till he arrived....but they brought me a book to pass the time...... :-)
I was late...thats all I know...and born on a Friday evening. Ive been late ever since.
Lilpasta was also late, and an emergency c section.
I wasnt "progressing" and had spent a day hooked up to a monitor. I'd done this several weeks in succession, and this was the one that it was declared she'd arrive...helped out kicking and screaming if necessary. Her wee heart decided to slow down, so all hell broke loose. Like a hospital drama...they whipped the nail varnish off my fingers...and shouted "crash!!!" as they pushed my gurney down the corridors. The last thing I remember was saying I still had gum in my mouth....
My doctor later told me that Mr pasta was white as a sheet...propped up in the doorway in scrubs...as the operation proceeded.
I was born in the middle of a famous bridge on the way to the hospital :)
Kvali.....not the River Kwai?
The Ha'penny Bridge would be an apt place for a birth;-)
I was born on Thursday, at 11am. I was two weeks late, and they had to use forceps.
