Any recommendations?

I have always suffered from dry lips and have a myriad of various salves but so many are ineffective.

I like Carmex but dislike the fact that it comes in a pot, much prefer stick types.

Suggestions very welcome.

Have you tried Boots own brand lipsalve? It's a stick type and comes in a number of flavours, I use the spearmint one. I find it much better than branded ones, it's very moisturising and doesn't leave that nasty white residue round your lips that some do, I really hate that.
I have always found chapstick to be the best. The original without any flavours.

Thanks Eth...or Ron, having a spearmint flavoured one is a good idea as it will hide me gin breath!
That's why I use it ;)
I just remembered, I had a lot of dry lip trouble last winter and bought a tiny tube of Blistex intensive moisturiser, really worked well. Didn't need to use it for long and still have most of this little tube left. Might be worth a go for particularly troublesome times.

Is Blistex easy to find, Boots/Superdrug etc?
Boots
Ive used many types. I find the one by Berts Bees is the best of all. They sell it in garden centres and health shops. It lasts ages too!

Apologies Ubasses, I do have an original Chapstick but it isn't doing the trick at the moment.

Georgesmum, the Burts Bee's one with Pomegranate Oil has made no inroads either.
Also, slothering on vaseline at night gives an added boost of moisture.
In that case I agree with ethandron re blistex but I have never seen it in a stick, only tubes of cream.
Vaseline is the only thing I've found that works for me
I *think* carmex comes in a tube version. I'll have a look....
Problem solved.
I have dry lips & love carmex it comes in a stick...

I LOVE the blistex (blistese) in the little tube that really sorts out the dry lips!

Also loving the mabeyline baby lips just now! I dont usualy like coloured ones but theyre nice for work xx
I use Carmex from a little tube. Just squeeze out a very little onto my finger and rub it into my lips; but you could apply it direct to the lips.
I like Carmex too but when I've had really bad dry and chapped/cracked lips (especially when I have a cold) Blistex cream is the only one that has helped, fantastic stuff and agree with the others who recommended it.

I have Sjogrens/Sicca Syndrome too so have a very dry mouth and lips generally.
