Good evening and welcome to all those who have sailed or waded through flood waters, trudged through snow, and been buffeted by stormy winds to join us at Nungate Towers this Saturday. For those few, that happy few unaffected by the weather in their journey here tonight, you too are most welcome.
As we are still in Olympic mode, tonight's Tailcock will be the "Gold Medal" (as worn by that intrepid slider Lizzie Yarnold - very well done!!)
On the hot plate tonight we have, Potage Bonne Femme, ( despite good women being hard to find these days, we managed!) There is also a Minced beef hotpot on the hot plate, just the thing for the cold and wet weather, hot and hearty being the order of the day) Of course there will also be the customary, volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers. On the pudding trolley there is a delicious steamed jam sponge, with custard or cream (Oh dear, I seem to have gained another couple of pounds!)
Our entertainment tonight comes in the shape of our favourite band the Tone Deafs and tonight they will be playing a selection of golden oldies (feel free to request any song you like) and as always, up in the gallery in the Great Hall, the Minstrels are busily tuning up their usual repertoire of madrigals and toccattas.
Owing to the high winds (thankfully now abating) it has been decided that the bungee will remain out of action until Spring as will the hot tub, which has been relocated to the dungeons by the indoor swimming pool, naturally the mini bar has accompanied the hot tub to its new location.
Still in use however is the ski slope and the ice rink, and we have also added a toboggan run! We have provided the necessary sliding equipment
and safety gear.
For those members who may experience difficulty in returning home this evening, please be aware that the guest suites are available and ready to use. All amenities are available for members, the library has a vast collection books, magazines and periodicals, the latest edition of "Theoretical Physics for Beginners" has just arrived, as well as the Valentines issue of "Cow Punchers" weekly. The games room is fully equipped with most games, tables have also been set up for card games (please note that gambling is illegal within the confines of the Towers) Our fully equipped gym has a new personal trainer in the shape of that former all in wrestler Fearless Freddie, scourge of the Kirkcaldy Crochet Guild.
Igor will be on hand at the main entrance for the concealment of all cloaks, coats and broomsticks, (the safe return of which is never guaranteed)

A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals

Your wish, my command Madame Daisy. I have a nice selection of horses doovers and such for you, and I brought you a refill too.
DT is still angling around, just.............
My family keep telling me you can get pay as you go smart phones now. Would be lovely to be able to get their photos again. My non-smart is not compatible.
Oh there you are DT. Was getting worried. How are you coping with the weather? Sounds as if your area has taken quite a battering.
An Essex girl gets a new mobile phone from her husband.
The next day she goes to Asda and her phone rings, so she answers it.
It was her husband. He says, "How's the new mobile?"
She replied, "Great...but how did you know I was at Asda?"

Well, it's a bit late for the initiation but we can do that later. You have to be over 50 to join and of course be demented in that special way only known to people of certain years. The only exception to this rule so far is Queenofmean who isn't old enough but since she lives here at the Towers with her Dad and I, I have to let her in.
Care for a tailcock? Bucket or glass?
Nungate will do the necessary, Zooby. Hi
Question Author
I think you should head north DT, weather has been much kinder up here this winter. Not to mention that Luca's and Di Rollo's are still open for ice cream. Sorry to hear of you losing your favourite ice cream shop. Is it very badly damaged?
What about you BigMac? Any damage?
Ah, a new member, so nice to make your acquaintance. I am Igor, the ancient family retainer to the Nungate family, I have lived in these Towers for many years, many, many years. You will find that there are excellent facilities for members and many activities and entertainments too. Oh and please don't mind Madame, the over fifty rule is more than flexible!
Would you prefer your tailcock in a Glass (Madame's best Crystal) or a Bucket? I shall have to fetch you one from the silver vault.
Well, it's had a good salt wash.....it will be up and running by Easter I guess....It may be okay though....

By the way Igor, choccies or rock if I go away next week? Or anything else?
Truly frightening DT.
Question Author
That's dreadful DT, still as long as they can get the whole thing up and running by Easter that might not be so bad, hopefully everyone can get their businesses back on the go by then (fingers crossed)
No damage - I'm in a flat in central London, about four storeys over street level, and we're about 100ft above the Thames, anyway.

The wind's been bad - lots of building work near us, sheeting and other stuff being brought down
Madame Daisy that is so kind. Just bring yourself back to us safe and sound the following week
Mum....regarding your 'Phone' question I think i'm on my 12th maybe 13th mobile.....the one I miss most was my Samsung I loved that phone so much this one aint too bad though and I hated my HTC's all fire and no cracker!!
