Good evening and welcome to all those who have sailed or waded through flood waters, trudged through snow, and been buffeted by stormy winds to join us at Nungate Towers this Saturday. For those few, that happy few unaffected by the weather in their journey here tonight, you too are most welcome.
As we are still in Olympic mode, tonight's Tailcock will be the "Gold Medal" (as worn by that intrepid slider Lizzie Yarnold - very well done!!)
On the hot plate tonight we have, Potage Bonne Femme, ( despite good women being hard to find these days, we managed!) There is also a Minced beef hotpot on the hot plate, just the thing for the cold and wet weather, hot and hearty being the order of the day) Of course there will also be the customary, volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers. On the pudding trolley there is a delicious steamed jam sponge, with custard or cream (Oh dear, I seem to have gained another couple of pounds!)
Our entertainment tonight comes in the shape of our favourite band the Tone Deafs and tonight they will be playing a selection of golden oldies (feel free to request any song you like) and as always, up in the gallery in the Great Hall, the Minstrels are busily tuning up their usual repertoire of madrigals and toccattas.
Owing to the high winds (thankfully now abating) it has been decided that the bungee will remain out of action until Spring as will the hot tub, which has been relocated to the dungeons by the indoor swimming pool, naturally the mini bar has accompanied the hot tub to its new location.
Still in use however is the ski slope and the ice rink, and we have also added a toboggan run! We have provided the necessary sliding equipment
and safety gear.
For those members who may experience difficulty in returning home this evening, please be aware that the guest suites are available and ready to use. All amenities are available for members, the library has a vast collection books, magazines and periodicals, the latest edition of "Theoretical Physics for Beginners" has just arrived, as well as the Valentines issue of "Cow Punchers" weekly. The games room is fully equipped with most games, tables have also been set up for card games (please note that gambling is illegal within the confines of the Towers) Our fully equipped gym has a new personal trainer in the shape of that former all in wrestler Fearless Freddie, scourge of the Kirkcaldy Crochet Guild.
Igor will be on hand at the main entrance for the concealment of all cloaks, coats and broomsticks, (the safe return of which is never guaranteed)

A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals

I'm surprised you needed the skateboard lol

Yes your right, Queenie, a pair of baggy trousers would have sufficed.
I made a Potage Bonne Femme soup
the day after the MoFC, prompted by the look
of the peeled potato going soft
in a bucket of tailcock by the sink.
Beyond the back door, drizzle
and the raw Towers air argued for soup,
added their weight to the nod of my knife
slicing the leeks, wrapped up in themselves,
into Nugate logs, into rings – whites, yellows and greens –
that I agitated till they came clean
in a bowl of cold gin and set
simmering with the spuds in stock
I’d thickened with flour, sprinkled with dried
herbs – rosemary, thyme – and startled
with a splash of leftover vintage white wine.
Chablis French for Piss
We had it for lunch, liqui-dissed
with the top of the cat's cream and heated through
and though I dare say Queenie didn’t notice
the taste, she ate it. It’s sometimes too soon
to bathe her things, but she's got to eat.

Hello Daisy, you made it then? Been awfully windy down there these past few days, not been too bad here all in all.
Evening, Daisy and DT.

How did she get into that adorable costume?

Probably sprayed on I should imagine, Daisy.
Pmsl @ Tony
Saw someone out on the sea on my shopping trip this afternoon using a parachute with a sailboard - sea was a bit on the choppy side .....

The man must be mad, nungate.
Question Author
I thought so too Tony .... sea was rougher down at Dunbar

6-0 now a belter from Neymar!
Complex with a Samba de la Barca
Bloody hell, nungate, a walk over for Barca, how long left ?.
COMPLETE not complex

I feel sorry for the girl who has to follow in the footsteps of Amy Williams and Lizzie Yarnold in that event at the next Olympics (unless Lizzie continues in the sport - which I hope she does)
Has been very windy nungate. I left Violet (my mobile, very shy) in my dressing gown pocket yesterday morning and did not hear it above the wind. When I found her this morning she had shivered so much her battery had lost its charge. Missed a call!
Question Author
Done now Tony, we scored within the first few minutes, and Neymar is just back from injury so that was a good result from him
Question Author
Poor Violet, I hope she's alright now Daisy
That explains things, Daisy, poor Violet !.

How many did Neymar score, nungate.
Yarnold indicated this evening that she was going to defend in PingPongBang in 4 years....
Settled her on the sofa to charge. Think she enjoyed the ski jumping.
Mmmm. This tailcock is good. You got the colour right too. How clever! Do you have help with concoctions? Sometimes don't concentrate enough on mine with surprising results.
Question Author
Just the one Tony, he came on as sub. Messi scored a couple as did Alexis
and Pedro got the other one - at least we can score goals, it's the defending that lets us down! For the past few season we have needed a couple of central defenders but nada!! Mascherano is ok but no centre back (or whatever I liked the older terms for positions) but they don't buy them - ok so there a few good kids but not enough experience for La Primera or Champions league
Question Author
I'm glad to hear that DT.

It's all done by our resident mixologist Daisy, he is a marvel with the old shaker! Nice to hear Violet is getting the proper rest and restoration
Quite a relief not to have to hear some of the football results today Tony.
Dreading the cricket season.
