Brilliant,maggiebee.I know that word but didn''t know it meant a sheepfold.We used to describe a house that wasn't very clean as "a richt bucht"-must have thought it meant a pig-sty lol
Concise Scots Dict. gives bucht as an alternative of headword boucht with meanings as given.
