Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Got the theme, got the 4 names, in fact I've got everything except the island (19A).

I have *an* island that will fit, but cannot see the wordplay. Anyone got a tip for me - please?

Should probably have said, clue is: Island country hasn't deserted capital (5)

Best I can do is a province of the Philippines (so not a country) minus RAN (deserted) + A1 (first-class, capital) -- but I don't think it's right. I'm still puzzling over this one.

how do you get the last letter (I) ? There are no cross clues at that point.

With no last (I) the only one I can find is Panay one of the Philippines, not a country in its own right.
with the (I) there is Kauai and Lanai both from Hawaii again not countries in their own right.

Ah, well done, donny48. LANAI will do: LAN(D)+A1.

We know the I from having the theme, and deducing the name down the left-hand side.

..oh, and knowing the entry at 19 must be entered in a 10 across manner to give us 13 of those in total.

Yes, LANAI sounds good to me too. And yes, we know the final I from one of the theme words.
