I came home late last night and my front lawn looked a lot neater than when I left early that morning. Thought it might have been the dark/tiredness.

Was out front this morning looking st it a bit puzzled when a guy from a few doors down came over and said he had seen me struggling doing it before so did mine when he was doing his.

I was quite overwhelmed, only had one real conversation with him before and say hi in passing. Such a lovely thing to do and I was so very grateful. Definitely popping round with something nice to say thank you.

Lovely how this kind of thing can make such a difference.

Do you have much community spirit about?

My nieighbour kindly put my bin out while I was away. Some people are just thoughtful aren't they?
what a lovely gesture..how nice..
Have neighbours who take in parcels and often put out/bring in my bin if I'm out. Neighbour's son also helps me cut my rather high/long hedge if he sees me starting. What a difference good neighbours make.

He's either community spirited or interested in your "front lawn" :-D

Seriously, yes, that's why I like villages.
Did your neighbour leave you having to hold back on your natural instincts as a solicitor, Jenna?

Surely you could have sued him for damage to your grass!
;-)
...or trespass, LOL!
You are not going to press him with criminal charges for criminal damage then? Some people take all these things the wrong way. I have very nice neighbours and give the same in return.
We take each others' stuff to the tip too (although I hasten to add, we do ask first!)
i wish we had a like button on here. i would have pressed it for chuck's answer
I take parcels in but don't see a great deal of the neighbours. Did take the people across the road some cream cakes when the lady had been ill, although she nearly started crying and then I felt bad for upsetting her. There are people in the village who are very kind though.
I quite often trim my neighbours bush.

Chuck :O

Haha, no, I'm not a fan of the compensation culture for trivial things, it's way overused and, in my view, counterproductive in terms of fraud and defensive behaviour, medicine etc... It's why I like property law.

He actually came over as he was worried I'd be upset as he had cut it so short and it looked a bit battered but to me it's because of the crap weather and I was so grateful to him as I do find it a big struggle. I'm now even surer my mowing efforts are street entertainment haha!
I often take in my neighbour's milk for them and then drink it myself. Is this the right thing to do?
We most certainly do, since i started being ill our neighbour jim weeds the garden puts the bins out, brings them in, does any lifting, and i have no idea how to repay him, apart from thanking him
JB12:
I often take in my neighbour's washing when it's raining. (She's less likely to spot me nicking her underwear then!)
