If Boris in his best Churchillian way has declared war on the virus, pulling out all the stops, then we need the true community spirit of WW2,
emulate that fantastic generation in any way we can.
So, how about sleeping in underground railway stations, gathering around the piano and singing Knees Up Mother Brown, and forming a Dads Army and revitalise the heroines of Jam And Jerusalem.
Any other suggestions for what measures we can take, gladly appreciated.

We don't need that amount of heroism yet... Unless you are going on a bog roll hung in which case some time sums it up nicely...

And while we're all sleeping in underground railway stations and gathering round pianos singing 'Knees Up Muvver Brown', your local lowlifes will be helping themselves to your most prized possessions. Just as they did during WW2.
Best to just self isolate and guard your property.

The acronym F.A.N.Y. stands for First Aid Nursing Yeomanry of which the late Countess of Snowdon, HRH Princess Margaret ,was their patron.
An organisation of young ladies who initially carried out volunteer nursing duties and ambulance driving during war time. Later on during the 2nd World War some were recruited into the SOE and parachuted into occupied Europe.
There is a stained glass window in the church in Kensington Square, South Kensington dedicated to the FANY's as they were known by most. :-)
I pray my explanation of the acronym was more lucid than the other offering. :-)

Been busy all afternoon and have knitted 3 grey socks, does anyone know someone with a wooden leg ?
I know of a shop that has been preparing lines for queues in their shop to keep people apart.
My mate Long John Silver had a wooden leg, Bobbi. Thing is, though, he doesn't have a wooden foot on the end of it. :-)
