Wednesday. A bit misty this morning, but it's going to burn off when ole' Sol gets out of bed.

I'm away at 0800 this morning, got a hospital appointment at Gloucester Royal Hospital at 1000. There are roadworks on the major road in from here, on one of the multitude of roundabouts. There is another route in but it's longer and will be much busier. With a bit of luck I might be there in time to have breakfast in the excellent restaurant.

Tiggy was out until four, then went to bed when the mist came down.

With the deals now available last minute, I intend to - especially making long weekends of the Bank Holidays into mini holidays. 5 nights on a Greek Island for the price of 1 night in a Travelodge in London/York/Edinburgh - I know which one i'd prefer albeit the travel does cost a little more!

That sounds good. The Greek islands are beautiful, the people delightful and the food excellent. Can't lose can you!

Boaty, if you get the chance then go. I went for the first time last July to Skiathos - fantastic, enjoyed every minute I was there and didn't want to come back after the 10 days were up. Going to Kefalonia tomorrow (£14/night!) - neither of us have been before and I am certainly looking forward to it. Sun, sea, ice cold beer - what more could a man want?

I've been to Greece once, Paros about ooh too many years ago to think about. I loved it. I was just looking at the town I stayed in on Trip Advisor and it seems to have changed dramatically. I'd love to go again, but perhaps I should keep my memories intact and try a different island.

Morning CJ - OH used to live in Greece and has been to quite a lot of the islands - Crete and Santorini are on my list. She has rellies living on Crete we can visit - cheap holiday coming up, methinks.......
