The official antonym says "forfiet/loss/penalty" but that does not describe what I mean. if you climbed Everest and left picture of a family member up there for example, what would the word for that be? like a sort of reverse souvenir.

A relic?
your mark, a token, a tribute?

No you didn't OG you did a troll answer, any respect you may have picked up has gone from me.
That's a bit OTT, Tora. There is lots of litter on Everest, apparently.
TTT... why not leave your hypocrisy (go back and read many news threads if you missed it) up there instead or perhaps your own personal trolling (please see previous brackets )..... Jan gave the simple answer based on the fact that it would be litter, just that.

Awsome!

You really need to lighten up TTT.
Asking what the opposite of souvenir is confusing things imo. I agree with Prudie ......Tribute
Tora - why so sensitive over this? The answers aren't troll-ish - may be droll-ish but remember that in the negative often creativity and a solution to the problem can be found, so all answers have a validity (well, most of the time!)
I would call it a marker
Question Author
none of you know the story behind this, would I call a photo of your dad, garbage/litter/
rubbish
etc? ...and for the hard of thinking no it's not Everest, that was just an example.

Gawd is *** closed tonight or something?
put your stamp on it.
It would have been very easy to mention it was a sensitive subject in the OP, TTT.
Maybe you should consider that accusing folk who tried to help especially more than once, is rather offensive.
if you're talking about leaving something somewhere it wouldn't be litter, say so. One person's family picture might be another's litter, in all sorts of places.

How about

remembrance
noun
the action of remembering something.

synonyms: commemoration, memory, recognition
"we sold poppies in remembrance of all those who died"

a thing kept or given as a reminder or in commemoration of someone.
"I went through the papers and remembrances in his drawers"
Question Author
so I must first say it's a sensitive matter before I get a sensible answer? so unfeeling, crude answers are the default are they? right oh? I rememeber all those on this thread.
keepsake ?
you asked about leaving paper on top of Everest and got an answer to it. I've given you a sensible answer and you've ignored it. Chill out.
talisman ?
token ?
