The official antonym says "forfiet/loss/penalty" but that does not describe what I mean. if you climbed Everest and left picture of a family member up there for example, what would the word for that be? like a sort of reverse souvenir.

Wouldn't it still be called a souvenir? Souvenirs can be given not just kept.

Memento and souvenir are synonyms. They both mean a token of remembrance; the former is Latin, the latter French.
