Mickey, I'm sure you will be very interested given your views on Farage.
Which TV channel will it be shown live youngmafbog.I would like to watch it very much.I think Mr Farange will tear Clegg up for bog paper.
Just read the link.Sky News.
I think it will be an interesting debate and that Farage will make mincemeat of Clegg.
It will be interesting.

For the benefit of others who may like to watch

There will be two clashes - today on LBC and Sky News from 7pm, and next week on BBC2.
Brilliant.I think it will enjoyable and enlightening.Cant wait to see Clegg squirm and stutter.
Question Author
We may be surprised. Clegg does have more experience and he is passionate about his cause too.

It will not be very interesting. Mr Clegg will trot out the age old mantra that 3 million UK jobs (and a substantal chunk of his future income) depend on our membership of the EU; that 82.35478% (or whatever figure he can think of) of our export market depends on our membership of the EU; that unfettered immigration of people filling low paid low skilled jobs are good for the UK (neglecting to mention the other side of "Net Migration" where high worth highly skilled people are leaving in their droves); that only as part of the EU can the UK survive; that our £8bn+ contributions to the EU are worth every penny. I could go on but I'm sure you've got the gist).

Mr Farage will say the opposite. And the electorate will still not be given a say. (Yawns again and nods off. zzz.....)
a waste of time, tend to agree with NJ, Cleggy will trot out the common stuff about the EU, and Farage will batter them back with his usual comments about the Fourth Reich, or Fifth.. whichever takes his fancy
Why is Cameron, not taking part in this debate. After all he is supposed to be the Prime Minister. So he sends his Deputy to face Farage, That can only mean that Cameron can not face a mauling on LIVE TV. Well it certainly looks that way...
Nigel will wipe the floor with little Nicky. Cammy doesn't even have the cojones to meet Nigel himself so he sends his little assistant. Shame on Cammy for being sooooo weak and spineless. I hope he has plenty of starch in his shirts. It's it's the only way he can stay upright. No cojones, no spine, no brain just loads of blah blah blah.
I won't be watching. I'm VERY anti EU so I've already made up my mind on the subject.
Cameron cannot champion the EU because his party is split

The Lib Dems are more unified on the matter and their party leader Clegg is unequivocal in his pro EU position
Clegg will probably wipe the floor with Farage because he is far cleverer. Farage will look like an idiot by the end of the evening.

The Lib Dem and the Coalition have far more resources so Clegg to be totally prepare. UKiP will have planned his strategy around a pub table on the back of a fag packet.
IMHO it'll be the biggest mis-match since David took on the big fella with his ancient catty.
If it were a fight I'd expect the ref to jump in early and spare Clegg from taking the full beat-down.

Farrier/Janbee

did you read the article, if so it certainly didnt sink in

//The debate is taking place because the Liberal Democrat leader challenged Mr Farage on his weekly radio phone-in show.//

I dont believe Cameron was on the show.
"...the Liberal Democrat leader challenged Mr Farage on his weekly radio phone-in show"

It's strange how the weekly slot of one hour which Nick Ferrari gives over to the Deputy Prime Minister is now termed HIS (Clegg's) phone in show !!

Mr Ferrari also gives similar regular airtime (albeit not weekly) to BoJo and Bernard Hyphen-Howe but I don't hear those slots being termed as THEIR phone in shows !!!
YMB COALITION = SAME BODY, National Government. let it slowly sink in.
The debate is on BBC news channel 80 tonight at 7.30pm I think.
I'm on nights tonight and am off for me pre-shift nap so will miss the debate.
I'll catch up with this thread in work later and trust the great and good of the AB News section will be their informative (and hopefully not too biased!) selves by posting their thoughts and observations on here.
Thanks.
