Because it makes the hair go nice and shiny.

Can't you use products to make it shine ummm?
Yes, a set of hair straighteners ;-)
A man's idea of straight is not the same as a woman's idea of straight...
lol sb
yes it makes our hair shiny and we can finish drying with them without it drying out like it can with a hairdryer.
Plus, my OH can say my hair looks straight - I may have a different opinion ;-)
lol snap salla
Yes...but they can make your hair go greasy.
Far too complex for me to try and figure out.
Hair too long, unkempt, or messy = Guardless clippers!!!
Chelle...sorry to inform you but the worst thing you could ever do to your hair is put a set of straighteners on it. You're effectively burning it straight.
straighteners separate sections & give volume (bounce) to the hair
ummm mine are meant for damp hair, and I only use them with damp, not wet, hair. Approved by my hairdresser and my hair is in great condition.
I suppose it depends what hair type you have. I have long curly hair and was told to use them as little as possible.

OI !!!! The the thread's about womens logic, not shiny bouncing hair. LOL
Logically if she wants shiny hair then straighteners are the best thing for the job :-)
Surely varnish, gloss paint, or polish would be the best thing for shiny hair?
And how about dipping the hair in liquid rubber for that extra bounce?
I have straight hair and also see no reason for straighteners. I did consider them once due to my style of cut but I am actually sick of seeing people with straightened hair. What happened to wash/condition/dry/brush/leave?

I like my hair to be as natural as possible, if it's kinky (rarely) then so be it!
curls rock ;o)
My hair is poker straight, but if I'm going somewhere nice I give it a quick once-over with the straighteners as it tames any flyaway bits....
my hair is very straight too but i was given straighters a while ago as a present , i tried using them but my hair looked bent not straight
