When clearing out a drawer full of junk I found my dad's old penknife. He carried it with him always and it still seems as sharp as it was 16 years ago. I would like to start carrying this with me in my handbag. Would there be any legal reason why I shouldn't? Too long in the tooth to be done for carrying an offensive weapon.

Thank you Mamya, I shall pop it into a pocket in my handbag. Definitely less than 3" long.
What do you expect to use it for? Has it got a tool for getting boy scouts out of horses hooves?
There may be a whittling emergency, I suppose?
