who's comfort zone, certainly not his, if you bunked into UK illegally, then you should be caught and sent home. We really shouldn't be supporting any such amnesty, it might make sense to some, however what happens when more come in, do we do the same then, and thereafter.
from your link, rather backs up what i said about the capital earlier on today.

A study commissioned by Mr Johnson from the London School of Economics estimates there are 618,000 illegal immigrants in the UK, of which 442,000 - almost three quarters - live in the capital.
Who the hell is mr johnson,???,Also how does this man know how many illegals are here???
Boris, Mayor of London presumably.
Did you notice one of the reasons why the MP suggests it ?

// Nadhim Zahawi, MP for Stratford-Upon-Avon, argued that the move makes sense economically and that a 'seismic' shift in policy is needed for the Conservatives to attract votes among minority groups.//

Are the Tories at last realizing that they have very little support in the country ?

WR.

they have more support than you think, many old died in the wool Labour voters changed tack when they saw jobs going, then large influx of immigrants, which by and large has seen them affected the most. The tory nabobs can swan off out of it, no chance your jack the lad Labourite.

got his name in the paper .no publicity etc etc
Is this the same bloke who wore a musical tie in the house of commons - idiot.
It is a ridiculous idea, and the reasons given for suggesting it highlights the opportunistic nature of some politicians who are even happy to suggest those who have broken the law, and a law accepted as being right, should be left alone in order to make a political gain. The real problem is that they have failed to stop the numbers of illegal immigrants and now have too large a problem to deal with. Shame on them. Were there any justice Nadhim Zahawi and those who agree with him would now be thrown out of their political party as having brought it into disrepute (were such an act possible).
Although that is exactly what the US plans to do. Mind, at the same time, as a trade off, they are also spending a lot on fortifying their borders.
hang on a minute. If folk are here already, especially if they are married with children it would be a Court of Human Rights problem to get them out now - certainly hugely expensive and almost certain to be unsuccessful.
Why not compromise - anyone who has a job, is settled and regularly paying taxes and who hasn't committed a crime here can have conditional citizenship for five years and become a citizen after that if still lawabiding and contributing to the community and the Inland revenue. But they are not to bring in adult dependants later.
this is about illegal people, so if they are working how will they be paying tax, as they surely will show up on the radar of the tax people, not to mention the DWP.
The word "ILLEGAL" says it all. Round up and deport. I should think most of the people agreeing with this wally of an MP must have similar surnames. ! Maybe the Tories have come to realise they are going to be toast at the next election and are now in panic mode and scrambling around for minority votes. Satisfy a minority.... lose the majority.
it;s not just a Tory matter though is it, even if they gave an amnesty to all these people, don't you have to have a permanent address to vote.. what makes the bloke think they want to vote for anyone... if they don't speak the language, that would be a problem too, also not knowing our voting system, seems a stupid thing to think or do.
Pull out the stops and get every last one of them out of here.

Give them an amnesty and then what about all the illegals that will keep flooding in after them ?...theyll just hang on until they get an amnesty.
I think this is a slap in the face for all those immigrants who strived to be here, and through the correct channels in order to gain citizenship.
Really should read the post before I submit!

I'll try again.

No Ron they have only just realised that a party now needs to attract the ethnic minority vote, why else do you think Labour let so many in?
