So says the civilian head of NATO. Doesn't he have a point? The Taliban are either skitting the Afghan/Pakistan border or else spending their time sniping at troops or laying roadside bombs away from the large towns. The Taliban are Afghans after all, so if the children are caught up in the crossfire they should be moved to the protection such as Kabul can offer. In a warzone surely it would be better for both sides to attack each other direct unless of course the Taliban are using the cowards way out and hiding behind women and children.

The Taliban are using guerrilla tactics. They'd be mad not to when you think of the technology their opponents have. In 5 years or so they'll still be in Afghanistan when the armies occupying their land are long gone.
