Chief Rabbi ?

Watching news footage of the Popes visit to France lead me to wonder:
The Queen is head of the Church of England
The Pope for the Catholics etc.etc.
I just wondered if there is a head of the Jewish Faith ?
and PLEASE - no racist remarks - this is a serious question !
