Have just heard that the Portugese police are intending to charge Kate McCann in connection with Madeline's disappearance. Is this anything to do with the DNA evidence that was sent for examination in the UK? Anyway, I can't believe that either parent had anything to do with it. What do other AB'ers think?

The parents SHOULD be charged for her disappearance. They left THREE toddlers alone, in a foreign country, in a strange room!!!!! Why aren't people getting that?! I have three nieces, the bond cannot compare to that of a parent to a child, but I know I would NEVER leave them alone! The bottom line, is that they didn't just fhook up, they fhooked up selfishly. Get them sent down.

pippa i dont care if this post goes on all weekend. all i said that for today i have no wish to participate, and at no time did i infer other abers should not, my point is we can all speculate and we all have opinions , but the thing is we dont know YET who is responsible lfor this tragedy, and it is my decision on what idiscussions i wish to contribute to .

Well there is documented belief by sociologists, so Wardy isn't incorrect..I remember reading books in my sociology class regarding criminals/murderers and the way they look (mostly unattractive)

However Ted Bundy was very handsome.

I guess that the notion of attractiveness is indeed quite subjective Cambus. Personally, I don't think that she is what I would class as beautiful but she is not unattractive either, at least physically speaking anyway. Inside, she's a monster. She was a former model too so I am assuming that behind the bruises and crocodile tears for TV, she must have been a bit of a looker. No? I cited her because I couldn't remeber the name of the pretty Scottish woman who was dubbed the Black Widow for allegedly hiring a hitman to kill her husband in the bar which they owned abroad - Spain if I recall correctly. I recall that she was very attractive and was said to have a hypnotic effect on men. It's a bit silly to say that only unattractive women kill and it's also off topic for this particular question, so I guess that I had better comment on the question posed here.

I don't know what to believe but will continue to believe in the innocence of this poor wee girl's parents until there is concrete evidence to the contrary. My husband has jumped on the bandwagon of doom mongerers who have had Kate McCann tried and sentenced in their own head, having snatched at scanty details submitted in news snippets and drawn their own conclusions. Just because the status has changed from witness to suspect, this does not mean that she had any involvement in her daughter's disappearance or death. I have no doubt that the truth will out very shortly but I fear that Madeleine may never be found. No-one knows the truth apart from those directly involved in her disappearance and sadly, no-one is talking.

Very true, Gina. Which is why I said that I didn't agree with Wardy's (Shadow Man) statement regarding her looks..I don't think she is particularly attractive.

I'm not either..and I have never killed anyone. Not yet anyway.

Can I just say, the fact that people see her lack of emotion as worrying, doesn't necessarily mean people are pointing the finger at her. I don't read newspapers - I watch the news and listen to the facts they are given.

They are both guilty of one thing - that is selfishness. They left THREE children on their own in order to enjoy themselves. All this, "oh those poor parents" crap is ignorant on Madeleine's behalf. Let's believe she is alive, do you think she had the ability to weigh up the circumstances she would view her mother and father as "poor victims"?!

Some people cannot have children - these two don't deserve them.

My dad said something odd which I must admit, stopped me in my tracks. (He's an ex policeman) He found it odd that the cuddle cat teddy had been found placed up high upon the shelf and it was his personal opinion that this was unusual if an abductor had done it, as it's more of a motherly thing to do, to place the teddy safely upon the shelf, to take care of it. He wondered why an abductor would stop to take the time to place the teddy upon the shelf instead of either tossing it to one side or cuddling the teddy into the child. As I said though, no-one really knows and this is just further speculation.
