School children in our Borough were given a silver spoon st silver spoon at the last coronation. We were posh!

Not bothered either way, it's a tradition, and many people set great store by continuity. I suspect many places would already have swapped Elizabeth II, for Charles III by now.

The previous Charleses reigned for 23 & 22 years I think. One didn't end well!

I think one lived a pious life and the other exactly the opposite. Yet they both reigned for over 20 years.
A middle of the road path might see this third Charles get his 20 in.

If it comes out of money that's already been set aside for spending on the monarchy, fine. Otherwise, a complete waste.

It's a tiddly amount in the great scheme of things. The government spends £260m a year on homelessness, last year spent £37 billion of the cost of living help including £15 billion on the energy bill rebate package.

I think they'll find this £8m down the back of the sofas.

Just imagine if Scotland got independence back in 2014,we would have pictures of Randy Sandy and Virgin Sturgeon gloating over us ordinary Scots for ever more.Same difference.
