Ellipsis, as I suspect you well know, the word little used in this context does not necessarily relate to the size of him.

But then dont let that stop you trying to be all pious.
> Describing him as little, which he is, is not an insult

Do you mean it's not an insult, or it wasn't intended as an insult?

You might ask why the word was used at all then. E.g. instead of ...

> odious little creep
> Nasty little poisonous dwarf
> Horrible little man
> odious little git

why not ...

> odious creep
> Nasty poisonous man
> Horrible man
> odious git
Oops sorry , I said he was a little oink :0/ but okay, he’s an OINK of the highest caliber
I don't like him, but I love Marmite.
How anyone in good conscience say Bercow was unbiased is beyond a joke.

He specifically excluded Brexit legislation votes etc in favour of remain ones. That is a fact that can’t be disputed but to Remainers he was undiased.

In any case he was a self important and odious little man (not specifically in stature) that aggrandised his position and life.
Don’t you mean “oik”?

Anyway, AB at its finest.
From the crew who are never slow to call out the abusive language of the left ....
Doesn’t bother me, but worth mentioning in passing :-)
Nah, oink has a better ring to it ich
It's strange how Thatcher, Major, Blair, Brown, May, Johnson and many others in the political classes - Diane Abbott ... even Clare Short! - are never described as little people when insulted by their various opponents, yet in Bercow's case the word little does not refer to his stature. Of course not ...

Was that an oink I heard flying past?
Haha ellipsis, probably was ,although I’d never call anyone a pig, well maybe one and that’s not you ;0/
I'm pretty sure I've referred to Brown as 'little', likewise Heseltine and Gove. Stature has never been the issue.
I'll admit Ellipsis when I call him a little whatever, I am taking his height into consideration and I'm not going to apologise for that !
And the Abacus could hardly be described as little, it’s just a ticket to pin on someone , I have an ex sister in law I’m still friendly with she’s always been known as Little ?
> I'll admit Ellipsis when I call him a little whatever, I am taking his height into consideration and I'm not going to apologise for that

If insulting the physical attributes someone was born with sits well with you then I suggest you carry on with the monkey chants at the next match you attend ...
^That doesn't work. Footballers aren't monkeys but Bercow is short.
They're not being insulted for being monkeys. They're being insulted for being black. But if you prefer it, a different insult from the crowd (or John Terry) might be "You effing black lady garden"

Of course, the "black" there is not supposed to be an insult and anyway refers more to the gentleman's humour than his skin colour ...
Exactly, and that serves to demonstrate the irrationality of your smart Alec comment, so thank you for that.
Is that the best you can do? Thank goodness you don't know that I'm short, black and crippled ...
I don't go to football matches Ellipsis.
Peace and love at Xmas eh ?
Indeed.
