Went to my daughter's year 6 leavers assembly this morning where all of the pupils receive an engraved silver plate and an award of some sort. My daughter received her's for academic progress in mathematics and the curriculum in general. There is also a big award, the Georgie Bulford Memorial cup, and my daughter received this too (for academic brilliance and generally being an all-round nice person)! And I didn't cry!
I expect I shall need a large cider as I am about to go to the leavers picnic. What impresses me most about my daughter is how modest she is - she slammed her SATs (you get to see the actual mark now) and she just said 'oh, those marks are ok'.
DTC - I was fleeced for a curry on Friday when they got their reports and her SATs results (but I have just ordered her some new (& not needed) shorts :)
