We eventually let our children attend concerts/ festivals on their own at some point, they leave the house with a list of do's and don't to keep themselves safe ,we don't ever think of advising what to do in the event of a terrorist attack, :-(
@kvalidir: "Lyn M did you have to do this? Turn something already awful into some sort of racist rant"

I'm very sorry, but I promise, I won't come up with any more uncomfortable truths
// we don't ever think of advising what to do in the event of a terrorist attack,//

oo-er Mrs! put yourself the longest distance from the first bomb
[cos they will put one in a near car park for the gawkers]

it is said that english floor managers in the twin towers had no casualties - because they sent their staff home after no 1.
And why can't anyone on here spell my name, even though it's written down?
Maybe not the thread to be getting upset about how anyone spells you're name Lynn ?
Has the bomber been identified as Pakistani? I must have missed that!
Strange that US department of state said it was a suicide bomber some four hours before GMP even hinted same.
Heart-breaking.......utterly heart-breaking.
It's difficult to know quite what to say after an atrocity of this nature.

My thoughts are with the wounded, their families and the families of those killed.
Sipowicz, his nationality is irrelevant. Radical Islam doesn't recognise borders. It is one - a 'brotherhood'.
@Kvalidir: "Taxi firms last night ( predominantly Muslim / Pakistani) worked free all night to get people out of the city Centre to safety."

And by the way, is that the line the Mainstream Media were spinning about the incident? Yeah, never mind that people from the middle east plant the odd bomb in our country here and there. Think about those wonderful taxi drivers "working all night for free"

None of those people should be here in the first place. That way we wouldn't have them targeting kids with bombs
Uncomfortable truths I can cope with - absolutely unfounded, vicious, speculation branding a whole community as murdering paedophiles is ... (I just deleted a really bad word) unhelpful.
scooping, according to the links people here have given it was predicted on Twitter some four hours before the event.
It is time the authorities stopped pussy footing around, so as not to offend the community and if they have the slightest inkling that a person is suspected of terrorism, they should be removed from society and incarcerated until the security services are satisfied that they are no longer a threat.

It would seem by these statements that this killer and others are already known to them.

/// Officials in the US said their UK counterparts had identified a possible male suicide bomber as being responsible for the
atrocity. ///
/// British counter-terrorism police have said they are making on average an arrest every day in connection with suspected terrorism. ///
The standard phrase of all politicians is "My thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones" etc. which alone, has become so repetitious that it sounds (at least to me) insincere and trite.

Donald Trump opened with something similar, but not without extending it to an attack on the perpetrators;

“We stand in absolute solidarity with the people of the United Kingdom. So many young beautiful innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers in life.

“I won’t call them monsters because they would like that term. They would think that’s a great name.

“I will call them from now on losers because that is what they are, they are losers.”

Well said Donald!

I am sad and angry in equal measures - and just now feel that (if we need repressive measures to root out the terrorists) then I'd line up and help shepherd the 'people of interest' into camps ... but logically I do know that that's really not the way, really it isn't.
I think it may be time to step away from the keyboard Lynn.
I'll come up with an uncomfortable truth, when the Danish cartoons were published many thousands of Muslims across the world took to the streets in protest. This morning people across the country will be thinking and saying this is a radical Islam attack. The Muslims here will realise this so why aren't they on the streets in their thousands saying this wasn't done in our name? their silence,as usual, speaks volumes.
// None of those people should be here in the first place. That way we wouldn't have them targeting kids with bombs//

i support free speech
but blimey it reminds me of Brum in the late seventies

Irish targeted after the Mulberry / Yard of Ale bomb - and oops the wrong people spent 15 y in prison - oops again, never mind
Well said sunny dave
