I like on occasion a g&t or a drop of red wine, then I prefer a cup of tea or a tin of ginger beer, was never in love with booze, seen too much damage in families to 'love it', its a curse and my circle of friends tend to prefer meeting for a coffee rather than drinking alcohol, I think it can be the company you keep too that can make you drink too much.
I've never been in love with booze as I don't like the taste of any alcohol so, lucky me. :-) I don't like the fact also, that it can cause an awful lot of trouble for the people who drink too much.It really annoys me to think that ambulances are called out to people who have had too much to drink when they should be dealing with people who are ill. So I hope that people are cutting down on it and just drink sensibly.
Exactly Mickey, the Spoons is often our port of call.
I doubt we are falling out of love with booze, as for the comment in there 'The young are not big drinkers' clearly these people have vision problems as it is plastered over our TV's or available for you to ee in your local Town every Friday and Sat night.
there was a time when i enjoyed the company of others in the pub, especially the one i worked in, but times change, its not so appealing now for some reason.
Islay....I am a bit puzzled as to why you don't like Wetherspoons. I have been to quite a few over the years and can't really what is wrong with them. Some of them can get busy at times of course.
