I like on occasion a g&t or a drop of red wine, then I prefer a cup of tea or a tin of ginger beer, was never in love with booze, seen too much damage in families to 'love it', its a curse and my circle of friends tend to prefer meeting for a coffee rather than drinking alcohol, I think it can be the company you keep too that can make you drink too much.

Health problems have forced me to be teetotal - I used to drink far too much
Question Author
no wonder if this is the case our pubs are falling by the wayside.
Unfortunately, I'm not. I do drink too much.
I was never 'inlove' with booze, seen how much damage it can do to some individuals.
I haven't had a drink in 16 weeks!
Not in my house it isn't. I look forward to my G+T or Martini at 19:02 every evening, and why not !
Question Author
mikey, martini, what are you, James Bond...
At 19.02, mikey?
Question Author
i haven't had a drink since Christmas with the family,
Jo....dah de dah de dah de doo !
The sad fact is that young people are finding drugs cheaper than booze.
I have a drink every evening at 18:27 (well roughly) and hope to continue doing so until the end.

Khandro
that is probably true, after all going to the pub is an expensive thing nowadays, lots of people booze at home where its obviously a lot cheaper to get stuff from the supermarket.
Question Author
or as you say take drugs, which is cheaper still
I have no idea what drugs cost !
Question Author
no idea but they are certainly a way to get off your face for less than a pint.

Question Author
our pubs are getting to the point of a fiver for a pint, which quite honestly is outrageous.
I only go to Pubs about once every few months nowadays. But last week, I met my old BT friends in a popular Whetherspoons in town and it was heaving in there. With good Real Ale (5.8) at £2.20 a pint, it hardly surprising that it was busy.

You can even have a curry and pint for £5:99....a bargain in this day and age I would have thought !
Nope, but it has in the past fallen out of love with me and shown me first hand what its doing to my stomach.
Question Author
that is the point, what is does to your health, all that sugar can't be good for you..
