Massive loss for the Tory Party. Well done LibDems. Good result for the STAY campaign as well.

I'm off back to bed now !

//his constituency voted wholeheartedly to stay in the EU. //

I've seen it all now. Given all the factors in play just how on earth do you get to that point?

Talk about blinkered. hahaha
So, since Mickey and his labour mates on here clearly think the Tories are on a loser will Mr Corbyn/Parliament put a vote of no confidence in May and force a general election?
Question Author
YMB.....the Tories lost yesterday in Richmond..... big time!

Get used to it !
The Tories didnt play.

So, how do you feel about a General Election then Mickey?
You seem to be suggesting, Mikey, that there is still a STAY campaign.
There is no campaign, just a bunch of anti-democracy losers bleating because the vote didn’t go their way.
And so what if the constituency voted to remain - the vote was NOT about constituencies/areas, it was about the country.

Richmond referendum results

Remain: 75,396

Leave: 33,410

Overwhelmingly in the REMAIN camp !
Question Author
I forgot to add above....and all of this in a "safe" Tory seat !
"Massive loss for the Tory Party" - err the Tory party did not contest this seat.
Mikey: 08:42 - so nothing changed then.
Question Author
TTT...of course somethings changed !

The Tories have one less seat and the Libdems have one more....and that isn't a change ?

How much worst could it have got for the Tories yesterday ?
Yes.....mikey is right.....bad day for the Tories and an even worse day for the Brexiteers.
I still dont get you Mickey.

So in the referendum the result was Remain. So how are you equating the libdem victory as a good result for remain.

1) Are you suggesting a democratic process should be over-riddedn by MP's with the resulting civil commotion that would bring?

2) Surely it would only be a good result for Remain if they had voted to Leave last time and this time voted in a Remain candidate? And only then if you ignore all the other factors.

BTW, I have not been a Tory supporter for some time(surely you must have read my posts), indeed only recently I stated the jury was still out for me on May.
Bad day for the majority then Sqad?
you just pointed out that they reaffirmed their view from the referendum so that hasn't changed. Yes the Limp dums now have 9 seats and Goldsmith has demonstrated what a *** he is! This is yet another demonstration that the public are prepared to upset the apple cart when given the chance. This time the Limp dums benefited, something had to go right for them eventually!
Richmond is a very pro-Remain constituency, but the fact is people broke ranks from party allegiance to say a very firm NO again to Brexit. It's absolutely true that such a result would not happen in every constituency (in pretty sure it would happen next door to us)
But the point is they sent a very firm warning to the government which currently seems adrift and clueless and apparently heading us for a disastrous hard exit from the EU. In the unlikely event that Corbyn decided to try to force s general election I don't think the prime minister would be wise to oblige ;-)
sqad: "Yes.....mikey is right.....bad day for the Tories and an even worse day for the Brexiteers. " - have another punnet - as mikey pointed out they just reaffirmed their position from the referendum, this has no effect on brexit. Are the remainiacs going to keep going round finding areas that voted to remain? Hang on our neighbours all voted to remain so perhaps they can become and independent enclave and negotiate to be shafted by the EU in their own right! PMSL!
Typical lefty responses all through this thread. One by election result DOES NOT change the face of UK politics!!

Phone rings - "Good Morning, this is The Labour Party.
We can't do any opposing right now but your plight is important to us. Please leave a message"

Richmond Park and North Kingston La la land of the remoaners. No change there then. Lets have a full on General Election not just a chance for the piqued, self regarding Richmond set to throw a little hissy fit.
anyway on a happy note I'm pleased for mikey and the Tibetan peace porridge brigade they haven't had much to cheer them up lately so I don't begrude them this. Enjoy the love in mikey, you deserve it. TCOGB!
So Mickey, are you going to answer my question of 8:36 RE Labour/Libs forcing a general election?
