It's not beating Muslims. I'm not anti Muslim but rules should apply to all.

Do you think you could answer my question now please Mikey?
Ummm...I can only go on what he posted ! It seemed pretty clear to me.

My Irish grandmother wore a black veil everytime she walked to and from Mass, in Hampstead, on a Sunday and other days of the week. I don't recall her offending anyone, not anyone mentioning it.
^As I said, thinking is off the agenda.
^ OMG that's no comparison to a full burka!!
.//...it has beggar all to do with the rights of some Muslim women. //

It has beggar all to do with Muslim religion either. It is worn because the husband ordains it or it is seen as a deliberate provocation in certain quarters especially France where it is banned.
If they want to wear the burka that's up to them but they should remove it in places we'd have to remove a face covering.

I bet you could see your grand mothers face through her veil.
Ummm (15:08)

I agree, but we shouldn't be inventing laws to stop us being offended by things that are none of our concern.

Baldric....I can see no reason why a women shouldn't be asked to identify herself, by removing her veil, if asked to do in an appropriate place, like a court of law, schoolroom, airport security, etc. I seem to recall that the issue of courts of law has been addressed

But I can find no mention of that in trt's link.
I guess I'm lucky in that where I live I only see one of these shadows gliding by maybe once a month. To be honest, I'm not offended; I'm disgusted.
Ummmm...I am not sure if I could...it was a very thick, black veil !

As I boy, I could never understand how she could see across the Finchley Road, and not get run over.
Stuey...very rare round here as well.
Stuey...why are you "disgusted" ?
That's sad Stuey, not sure what the lady does that disgusts you.

I converse where possible with everyone I meet and most Burka/Veil wearing ladies are charming and happy to chat.
ummmm

/// Mikey....I bet he's really not offended, he just doesn't like it. ///

Thank you ummmm.

Mikey, I was responding to your question @ 14:30, not trt's OP

///Why would we want to ban the Burka ? ///

by giving you an example

Don't tell me you've forgotten asking already?

And a Bank or Building society? Should a male wearing a one piece Burqua with a sawn off underneath be allowed to continue unimpeded going about his business or does the teller request he strips first before approaching the counter?
AOg...make your mind up !
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Don't forget mikey. If you can't see the tattoos under a burqua you can't see the gender or the firearm/bomb!!! Your words!
Retro...couldn't you conceal a bomb or a firearm under a long coat ?
