After over 5 years of dave in Number Ten and Osborne in Number 11, it seems that 25% to 40% of cuts in the imminent spending review.
We know that people like to see Police on the beat, so will we all be happy when the Police have these drastic cuts applied to their budgets ?

It means pubic behaviour deteriorates since there is no reminder of needing to behave in a socially responsible way: kids don't learn to respect the police. Whilst changes may appear to result in less crime (and there could be other explanations) the public end up having to tolerate a worse attitude from others.

If you ask people if they want their Police sitting around in offices, doing paperwork, or sitting around in expensive cars, or even sitting at home because they have been made redundant, or would they rather that they be visible on our streets, most people would say the latter. The Police have already said that we should not expect burglaries to our houses to be investigate as often, or even at all.
The cuts that may occur in the next few weeks to Police budgets could be as much as 40%. Are the Police going to be as effective after 40% cuts, as they are now ? That is the question I am asking.
This is occurring under a Tory Government....a Party that used to call itself the Party of Law and Order...the Party that you support. I don't recall being told by dave before the Election, that when elected he would slash Police budgets

So special Divisons will be set up to track 15 year boys in the bedrooms. AThe Home Secretary will demand special powers to tag all adolescent males.
Old people being mugged are advised to film the incident on their phones and send it to YouTube where the public can leave a comment. Victims will be compensated from adverts shown with their clips. If they are beaten up really bad, they can be feature in the Daily Mail and readers can reminisce about the rime before the Tories abandoned policing.

I agree with disposing of expensive and ineffective dead wood.(That would be Mr Blunketts bobbies? Replace them with officers who do have the neessary powers to police properly. Remove crime commisioners,reduce more paperwork introduced for the benefit of the CPS,remove the CPS.Thats just for starters.
The police service seems to suffer the same problems and wastage of time,money and manpower as the NHS. The job can be done if those who know how to do it are left alone to do so without justifying every litre of petrol or ink used.
