No More Bobbies On The Beat, Under The Party Of Law And Order ?

After over 5 years of dave in Number Ten and Osborne in Number 11, it seems that 25% to 40% of cuts in the imminent spending review.
We know that people like to see Police on the beat, so will we all be happy when the Police have these drastic cuts applied to their budgets ?

There was a public order incident discussed recently on this site Someone said,"Do you remember the Student riots in Paris in the 60's. Ha. The CRS could show how it is done to stop it."
I remember when we had the equivalent. It was called the SPG. A highly mobile group of officers always with riot gear on board their vehicles who had a remit to go anywhere in the Metropolis when trouble flared up.
They were also used to blitz areas where there may be a high incidence of street crime. Dipping or Mugging and car theft etc. They would operate in uniform and plain clothes and succeed in bringing down those crime statistics.
They were used at a demo in West London when a left wing agitator died. It was believed that it was a police truncheon blow to the head and maybe a SPG officer wielded it.
Result: Howls of protest and the SPG were abolished. A very cheap and efficient group disbanded at a cost to the law abiding citizens.
Talbot. Your car would be safe if they were in your area.
Likewise. We have people complaining that the police are doing nothing about the rise in Knife crime and too many young boys (in gangs) are dying.
The SPG would of blitzed those areas and eliminated the possession of knives in quick time.
Again the vociferous left will bleat that a certain group are picked on by use of stop and search. Those powers are severely curtailed.
That is why I said earlier. The public is getting what they asked for. An ineffective service which treads on eggshells and has there authority and effectiveness eroded.

My dissatisfaction stems further back than this government.It goes back to when the police became politicalised puppets of the left.
Why it was no longer correct to call it a police force. Must say Service. Well thats an Oxymoron for a start.
If a left wing government listens to the concerns of wrongdoers and changes operational procedure to placate those who prefer a bit of looting and anarchy to get on with unhindered then we no longer get a sevice we deserve and used to have.
