Am I the only that has been disappointed by some of the anti Scottish feelings that I have read on here? Not the anti SNP as I was against independence but some of the anti Scottish sentiment and stereotyping that I have read.

I've never had any bad feelings towards Scotland, in fact had no feelings at all but since being on AB and noticing quite a handful of anti-English Scottish members I have changed my mind. As for Wales, having spent a lot of my youth in Snowdonia area I was always aware of anti-English views - even kids used to shout 'English go home' and I was only on holiday.
ahPrud, big scotttish hugs xx
Not you Minty XXX

I've never met with animosity against the English in Scotland. Only on AnswerBank.....
can't say i have noticed any hostility myself..what have I been missing ?
Says something about some members of AB, Naomi
SirOracle, some do tend to give the Scots a bad press.
Naomi, I have noticed derisory comments against Scots on AB.
No sensible argument for or against, simply *** derisory comments, which do not merit a response.
The deleted word was an acceptable word.
Goodness knows why the filter frowned upon it!
I agree with Gavmacp's original post.
As a born and bred Scot who voted Yes in the referendum, I did accept the decision of the majority, just as I had to accept the decision of the majority who gave us a Tory/Lib Dem coalition. What riled me was that the promises made before the vote suddenly disappeared after the vote. As for our history, when I was at school we had to learn all the names of the English kings/queens - it was as if Scotland didn't exist.

It's only the same kind of stuff that's been coming in the other direction for hundreds of years. Don't worry about it.

Hello Ludwig,
As I have said I was one of those ignorant/stupid person that believed it was alright to be anti English. But I was taught that two wrongs don't make it right.
I used to be anti English, still am ;)
Cheers
Better cancel my house move to Scotland then steg x
Actually, I think that Ms Sturgeon is being a bit of a plonker and now doing damage. I can well understand folk south of the border being put off by hearing remarks such as "Picture me and Ed on Friday plotting our future."

It's mostly irrelevant - the battle in Scotland is not about SNP or Labour - at the last election, together they did not have enough seats to unseat Cons/Libs.....it is about what happens to the Liberal seats up there - and also down here SW of Bristol and Southampton, where its traditionally Blue/Yellow, excepting the centre of Plymouth and Exeter and a 3-way punch up over Camborne, the Tories hoping turn the area all blue and push a long way towards the 23 extra seats needed.
