Am I the only that has been disappointed by some of the anti Scottish feelings that I have read on here? Not the anti SNP as I was against independence but some of the anti Scottish sentiment and stereotyping that I have read.

I think many anti-Scottish sentiments you may have read on here have been generated by the anti-English sentiments that have been expressed. Before the Scottish referendum on independence I said that I would like the union to survive.... but subsequent conversations changed that.
well I would agree gav. I wonder where the misconception comes from that scots hate/dislike English people. although I do blame the media to a degree , since the independence vote Scotland appears to have found ' their voice', please be aware snp is not the only minority party in parliament.

Yes I was one of those idiots that was brought up to be anti English. But since moving to England I have become British not Scottish. I am proud to come from Scotland but I am definitely British.

Lol
gav. I was never brought up to be anti-English, I worked in England for some time. I consider myself Scottish .

We were brought up to believe that all our woes were caused by the English!

I was in an Edinburgh pub when England were playing in the World Cup. I supported England but was met with some very aggressive Scots who informed me "we never support the English!".
anneasquith, you come across as one of the most anti-English posters on here.
Was this the fault of parenting or schooling Gavmacp ?
I agree with Naomi's first post (no really I do).

I was enthusiastically 'pro union' through the referendum campaign - but now (if they really are going to fall in line like sheep behind the SNP) I just want rid of them - but on our terms, not theirs.

I do like the Scots, I just hope they are conning the pollsters and will regain some sense in the privacy of the polling booth.
Naomi. I do believe you misunderstand me, i have become more pro Scottish after reading some of the post on this site.
I must misunderstand you too, Anne.

SirOracle,
Mostly from my ignorant school chums that had not really studied our history.
I am not a SNP supporter but in their defence at least they engaged the voting public.
-Talbot-, it seems a lot of us have misunderstood anneasquith.
'' i want rid of them but on our terms not theirs. now don't you think that is anti Scottish dave ?
Question Author
I personally think an independent Scotland would be harmful to both England and Scotland.
Naomi. are you spokes person for the non Scottish abers ?
So do I gavmacp, but the way Ms Sturgeon is carrying on talking of holding the Labour Party to ransom I'm beginning to wish that they were.
I love Scotland and its countrymen and women. It's one of nicest places in the UK. Sorry that was a little bit irrelevant however I felt like saying it.

I personally think she is playing a rather stupid 'game' that can only get up people's noses.
