Does UKIP specifically appeal to those with racial prejudices?

Is this something that Farage needs to worry about?

Cards on the table, when I think about it, I reckon I have a few social*, rather than racial prejudices myself, and I bet that the majority of AB News contributors are the same.

(*A social prejudice is one based on a number of factors, such as educational background, job, attitudes to crime and whether the person reads the Daily Mail etc. I believe that social prejudices are just as bad as racial prejudices - but I acknowledge them and consciously avoid acting on them).

I'm sorry if this sounds rude, and I really don't mean it to, but after your question a couple of weeks ago, nothing that you now say on AB is of any interest to me.

I really don't want to sound as if I'm being critical, because everyone has a point of view and every point of view is valid - but I think from your post (the one that was removed), that I'm not interested in anything you may have to say. By all means, post on this thread, because as I say, your views are valid and others may want to interact with you - but I don't have any respect for you.

Again - this is not me having a pop - there are others who have equally robust views whom I enjoy arguing with, such as AOG, who's always a great sport...

...but I have no time for you.

I'm sure you must feel an equal amount of antipathy for me, otherwise you wouldn't have pulled the old 'chip on your shoulder' our of the cliche drawer.

The character in my avatar is character from The Cleveland Show:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Cleveland_Show_characters#mediaviewer/File:The_Cleveland_Show_characters.jpg

He's that show's answer to Stewie from 'Family Guy' or Roger from 'American dad'.

I cannot see the resemblance to a golliwog 'neo' or otherwise.

Please give up on your continuous spouting anti racist campaign. You seem to continue to make a fool of yourself
and it is becoming rather repetitive and boring. You have an option you know. This is a free country. We are also free to read the Daily Mail if we so wish but you look down on those who do don't you? Prejudice or what?
.

A new girl starts working in your office, who's family are from the West Indies and you refuse to let her bank the office lottery collection because "black people are thieves".

I see the difference between racial prejudice and racism as former being one that we are socially conditioned into, and the latter being the one that you act upon, based on the former.
Our culture has always been fluid. Never set in stone. We have always been influenced or adopted things we like from other cultures. If we are talking about 'our culture' and it being under attack, we have been more sullied by unwanted influences from the United States.
Alien dress and religion though irritating are not really impacting much on normal Britons. But gang culture, drug culture and gun culture are all imports from over the pond and are far more of a problem
When immigrants live amongst us it is easy to to blame undesirable changes to our society on them. When an outside influence is really to blame.

UKIP are too distracted by colour. They should promote British and rally against our Americanisation.

Pick on a minor detail SP, be honest I expected no less.
I really don't care what Race, Colour, Creed or Sexuality you are, if you an outgoing personable Guy I'll have a Pint and a laugh with you, no probs.
You come over as someone who is in constant need of reassurance that everyone approves of you and what you represent, you do, sadly, appear to have a chip on your shoulder.

Actually, my need is more fundamental than that - I think there's a bit of an imbalance when it comes to race questions on the AB News section.

Check back over the past 20 and you'll see what I mean.

I will be honest - questions of race literally never come up in my 'real world', because, well...I don't know anyone who holds AOG's views, so these topics never arise.

It would be insane for matters of race to be handled by just one section of AB News, doncha think?

I don't share your views on then Americanisation of the UK, as I'm a big fan of all things American (except chicken pot pie and slavery).

If you've ever been a slave or eaten chicken pot pie, you'll know what I mean...

Surely you can see some resemblance on that link provided without claiming you can't see it neo or otherwise??? You have a Avatar that resembles,to some, a Roberston's Jam logo or a MJ lookalike. Get over it man. You do really have a problem

Sorry, I'm not sure what minor detail you mean.

If it's the difference between racial prejudice and racism, I would counter that this is a major detail.

Also, anyone who is tired of threads regarding race, I hear you and I sympathise, but to be honest, I don't think it'll stop me from posting them.

I'm sure others who have equal and opposite views to me feel the same.

As stated you come over as someone who is in constant need of reassurance that everyone approves of you.

It's a character from one of my favourite shows.

Perhaps it looks like a golliwog to you but to me, it simply Rallo from The Cleveland Show. His father (Cleveland Brown) was my previous avatar, but I got bored with that.

I don't think he looks like a golliwog, and I've not heard anyone else say so. But that's a side issue.

And the approval thing? You gotta be kidding right? Would anyone looking for validation post the questions I do???
Question Author
Correction:

Then Cleveland Show is not one of my favourite shows - it's just one I like.

You missed Retro's post @ 2047 then,? how convenient.
Is there any significance in choosing Rallo, sp ...or was it purely random?
Question Author

See my post at 20:23.

I now skip over retrocop's posts.

Not interested.

I'm more interested in your views to be honest - do you think there's a weird anomoly in the attitudes to race between the four main parties (and yes, I consider UKIP to be one of the four - perhaps more so than the LibDems).

I was going to go for Roger from American Dad, but at the time that I changed my avatar, I was watching The Cleveland Show, and Rallo said something that made me lau...

Hang on - why is my avatar so important???

Apologies - don't think me rude, but I've now got to start getting ready to head off into deepest South London for an Oscars party.

I'm not ignoring you or anything...just going offline for the night.
