4 hostage wounded, apparently. Not good!
Hope, hope hope that the hostages are not badly hurt.
^^^ and that the terrorist IS!
Reports of death and serious injuries as siege ends. Think the gunman is dead, plus at least one hostage.
plus at least one hostage.

Where have you got that from, Alwasysconfused?
The casualties, unconfirmed: 2 dead, 3 seriously injured, including a police officer

From Twitter
bbc news. Think I heard it right but OH is talking incessantly
unbelievable!
Hostages dead. Not a good result.
My thoughts are obviously with the family of the dead hostage and those injured. Given the situation, mindset of the terrorist and ever decreasing likelihood of a positive outcome it has to be said that this is probably the best scenario the law enforcement agencies/SAS could have hoped for.

Given reports on the background of the terrorist there may be questions to answer as to how he was actually still free at the time, given the gravitas of supposed charges he was facing.
One hostage Gromit, not hostages(plural), allegedly killed by the terrorist.
I'm thankful for small mercies, sad and regrettable though the death is.
There certainly are questions to be answered as to why the man was on the streets. I can't help but feel that the police were a bit 'gung-ho'.
The SAS' finest hour, the Iran Embassy Siege resulted in a death of an hostage from friendly fire. But that was soon forgotten.
Reports now saying 2 hostages dead.
Gromit, that is a demeaning comment to make.

Better than the US f-up in Iran!

They, the Ozzies, are lucky if they get away with just one killed other than the jerk. A tragedy yes, but it could have been so much worse - the frightening thing being that it could easily occur here on our streets.

Utterly pathetic in the extreme.
I have to agree with the last two comments. Sometimes you post some strange unnecessary comments, Gromit
I'm reading 2 dead Talbot, one being the terrorist who killed a hostage prior to his own demise.
