What is happening anne?
Yes, just had it flash up on my Sky News app.
Terrorism? Botched robbery? Or 'Falling Down'(Michael Douglas film) type scenario?
No Baldric, Sky app said 20 hostages in a cafe.
A link to the story would help.
Oh dear, report says an IS flag is present.
Sydney is quite a distance from Perth.
The OP said Perth. Maybe they have got it wrong?

That one hadn't appeared when I first looked
Sorry Baldric just noticed you had already put a link in to that.

oops, sorry folks, it's late.
Onw would imagine the terrorist/hostage situation will be taking precedent.

Thankfully they have the Australian SAS to call on, though unfortunately Perth(SAS Barracks) is the opposite side of the country to Sydney.
Given the mindset of Islamic fundies, one feels that the outcome of this will not be a good one, though I hope I'm wrong.
Latest says 13 hostages.
They think there is only 1 gunman. (sawn off shotgun)

maybe a kind mod would remove my op, and replaced by an accurate one ?
Feel sorry for the hostages - there is a definite mortality to being held hostage by the current lot

and yes the black flag does seem to say at the bottom - "and Mohammed is his messenger" which cant fill the hostages with hope and joy.
