I wouldn't have thought so, but others seem to think differently.

But not convicted criminals and involving a rape. I don't think so.
//But not convicted criminals......//

Luke McCormick killed 2 children as a result of drink-fuelled dangerous driving, he got 7 years and served 4. He is now captain of his old club, Plymouth Argyle.
/not being physically hurt or humiliated doesn't make rape or sexual assault easier to live with...believe me......☺ /

i'm sure it's not gness

but if someone was raped and 'phyisically hurt and humiliated' i would expect them to be more severely punished than Ched Evans was

That was i think DBs point

wouldn't you agree?
'more haste less speed LOL'

but if someone was raped and 'phyisically hurt and humiliated' i would expect their attacker to be more severely punished than Ched Evans was

That was i think DBs point

wouldn't you agree?

Of course, Zeuhl....but tried and punished for the violence and tried and punished for the rape.....not as one crime which is making people think there are degrees of rape.

Of course there is, divebuddy, but the titles 'rapist' and 'role mode' do not sit well with each other, do they? Some of us would say not at all.
If he raped her it's as bad as any rape......it's rape.

If he wasn't violent then there is no need to charge him with violence.
I don't think we have any idea, divebuddy, as men - to having a d==k uninvited up your privates....perhaps the only comparable similarity is homosexual rape, don't think that there is much difference in being invaded there and taking a few bruises and cuts as well. For worse, there is always the rape charge and violence attached. Hence, rape is rape.
As the bishop said to the actress, "I'm pulling out now" - time to be off into Truro.

I would like to say I agree with gness. Alleged offenders should be charged and tried for rape (ALL rape is evenly horrendous) and also charged depending on degrees of violence used in the attack.

Rape is not gradable, violence is.
/Hence, rape is rape./

That is naive and dishonest

'Rape' in common understanding implies an element of physical force and probably violence

If you want to separate out the violence then perhaps the term 'rape' should be replaced with 'non consensual sex'?
"Pro footballers are pretty famous for putting it about quite a bit."

errr, rather its a lot of the females that would seem to put it about a bit.

Im not going to mention names but I used to go out regularly to a club that was frequented by the local prem team who had free memberships...believe me the women used to virtually fight to get at them.

I've seen newspaper reports on so and so not being at training after suffering a reaction...wel i knew exactly what the reaction was....a night on the tiles with a local slapper !

I suggest you find asome of the stories on this case and see some of the evidence as to what went on that night , who texted who and why, who got the girl to the hotel and who was to be the recipient of her services for want of a better phrase ...you might change your mind about the girl and the circumstances, case etc

baz ^^ ;-)
Sqad ?
Dive

well it seems to me, if the staff at my local Barclays all got p133ed out of their minds, unlocked all the doors and drawers and collapsed over the counter

if i walked in and helped myself to a few quid from the drawer I would technically be a Bank Robber

But I don't think that description would fit most people's assumption of what I had done.
