Not funny. Not clever. A show off who cared nothing about his girl friend's distress or those using the track. Laddish not. Dangerous and stupid.
but 8 months seems a ludicrous sentence...
appears to be a prat, no consideration for others including his girlfriend.
Can we say *** yet?

add that to head and you have my answer.
i drove my Ford Granada 3.0 litre Ghia onto Brands Hatch once to see what it could do - well it was the 80s what can i say

However, it wasn't during a race as we'd just finished a day's Jolly there.

Mind you, the old boy collecting the markers they'd put on the corners for us nearly had a heart attack so i did beat a hasty and embarrassed retreat

Wonder how he managed to get on to the track though...?
I agree with grasscarp, dangerous and stupid.

8 months though? He should have run someone over, then he would probably have got less.

What he did was stupid,
What he got was insufficient.

Personally I think the sentence was excessive. Someone said in the report he could of caused an accident. Are the other cars not fitted with brakes?
All cars have brakes Gavmacp, but that doesnt stop accidents on the roads or on the race track. No excuse. He was lucky in that he didnt cause an accident or injury. For those who think it is a jolly jape and perhaps they will try it maybe the prison sentence will make them think again.
I think the length of the sentence is designed to discourage any other 'boy racers' from emulating this stupid prank.

I can appreciate the visul humour, but, as sp1814 says, when you combine that with this muppet's ignoring of his girlfriend's distress - sufficient to induce a panic attack requiring medical attention - and is lack of understanding of, and remorse for his actions, it looks a lot less amusing.

In perspective their are a lot more dangerous drivers on the road getting lesser sentences.
