British legion, Paul Cummins, Tom Piper
You can buy them, delivered after the display ends
getting bigger every day, too. It ends on Nov 11; after that you can buy one for I think £25
Every one hand made. More to be added yet
It's a fantastic sight lyn,Trish and I had a day in London a fortnight ago and we made a point of going to the Tower to see the poppies.they're one by a man called Paul Cummins and when the last poppy is placed on November 11 the total will be 888,246. My avatar is a shot I took of the poppies coming out of a window in the Tower and spreading out into the moat and as I said lyn it's a sight to see.
Are they still on sale? I bought mine weeks ago, on the understanding that it won't be delivered until the display ends, after 11 Nov, when they disassemble it all It looked absolutely amazing as an aerial view on the TV news earlier.
It's the most beautiful and emotional sight.....I hope to go again and I have ordered a poppy.....
Mine were taken a few weeks ago.... it'll be incredible now
oh yeah.... three ordered
I'm going to London to see them the week before they're dismantled. Looking forward to it and yes i've ordered one too.
jno,if you want one you might have to be quick I ordered one for Trish the day they went on sale and my order number was 55,288 the last time I checked they'd sold nearly 700,000
888246 will be planted. What an amazing spectacle. I had the phone no for buying one but can't find it. I looked online but, while I found a million other details, I couldn't find a phone no. Can anyone hep me with that? I want to buy a couple. Thanks
^^^^^forget the phone no etc. I've found it and the website details. Thanks anyway xx
there's a phone number on this site Jan

Thanks Alba, I found it after a search around my pile of notes and scraps of paper. xx
I've just ordered two of those beautiful poppies. Wish I could afford a loads more of them.
They are still on sale, I ordered 2 yesterday.

Note there is a delivery charge so two poppies at £25 each comes to about £62.

However if the money goes towards helping people I don't mind.
It does look spectacular, but I was very surprised when I went to dinner at a very wealthy friend's house at Christmas time last year. I commented on the magnificent Poinsettia on a table in her hall, and it transpired that it, along with a large food hamper, had been a Christmas gift to her and her husband, who is ex-RAF, from the local branch of the Royal British Legion. I know from personal experience that most of the big charities squander other people's money to a degree, but I had rather hoped the Royal British Legion was different. Disappointingly, it isn't.
My poppy number is 654345 so the sale of them is going really well. It's for an EXCELLENT cause.
