heaven almighty London is blighted enough already with noise, pollution, people, this isn't a good idea at all
not nimbyish, we have constant disruptions, road works, demos, bus, train problems, endless roadworks, millions of tourists, Olympics, you name it, so please let this die a death. Unless you live here you won't know how bad it has become. It has nothing at all with London getting everything that is good, more the worse, including people.
I had to google nimby craft! :c)

And yes, in this instance you're darn tooting I am! ;oP
An appalling idea and I hope it never happens. A load of zombie-driven petrol-guzzling, noisy, polluting vehicles driven round and round a city centre at speed while a crowd of people who like that sort of thing look on and cheer. .
Don't the police normally try to stop that sort of thing?
And surely these types of events make more competitive sense on dedicated tracks?
If it was motorbikes then it might be fun ...
they should run it on the M25 instead. Each circuit would take 7 hours, with cars reaching 15mph on some of the long straight bits. Imagine the worldwide TV audience for this sort of skilled driving - almost certainly in the rain. It would intnroduce such iconic sights as South Mimms services to a global audience.
i think i read somewhere recently that there was an idea for a london F1 race being held in the olympic park as part of the deal to make use of the facilities after the games.

either way, i would look forward to it
It'll never happen.

Shame though, as it's one way of getting all the potholes filled.
Much better rounds the lanes of Norfolk, though they'd have to observe the passing places for me coming the other way! My front bedroom windows will be on sale at £500 per seat, tea and coffee extra.
See why he is really keen on the London GP here:

Basically, it's to stop the UK tax inspectors investigating the sale of F1 in 2006.
