I live in PJ's at home.

Get in from work- they go on.

Don't leave the house- they stay on.

I havent yet got to the stage where I wear them outside, though I have gone to my local shop in them a couple of times.
I know its very hard to define a "chav" but I am afraid I regard anyone who wears pyjamas out side the house, unless they are putting the rubbish out etc, as chav.

It truely mortifies me when I see it.

Sorry but I am old school in this regard.
I go to the local shop in mine only really early in the morning or late at night. In the house I'm either in my PJ's or a comfy tracksuit. You can't beat a bit of comfort..
<sniffs dejectedly>

But my local shop is only 5 doors away :-(
I don't wear PJ's.

apparantly lots of people just stick a jacket on and go to the all night supermarket,
Hi there slinkykate, no even if I lived next to or above the supermarket I'd still have to have a quick freshen up and throw on at least a tracksuit and trainers though I wouldn't begrudge anyone if that's how they were dressed when they were shopping as long as they never smelled.
How times change!
I remember my mum would never even answer the door unless she was fully dressed and 'decent' with her 'face' on.
Any other behaviour was sluttish.

hi mickymacgraw,i remember i would.nt let any one see me in p j's,now,i could'nt care less
Am I right in saying that it would be more acceptable to go into your local corner shop dressed in pj's or dressing gown then a supermarket? Maybe it's a psychological thing where if you're only likely to bump into your local community it's deemed alright and if you're going to a massive hypermarket where you're more likely to encounter strangers it's seen as more of a no no?
I stay on camp sites fairly regularly and people wander around to and from the shower block in PJs, dressing gowns, towels around their heads, etc all the time.
Except me.
I only use the on-board shower and would rather be seen dead than in my night attire.
No. I've seen Mums at school gates dropping offspring wearing their pj's. I can forgive 'em tho.
I remember when it was considered bad manners for men to have their braces showing.

i have noticed a lot lately kids up to 7-8years old ready for bed with there parents shopping at night.
I remember when it was fashionable to go clubbing in long dresses..........a few times I've gone in a nightie and no-one noticed the difference.......
Each is to own. Quite honestly I can't see the difference between PJ's and casual wear in most cases. As long as people are not offensive I can see no problem whatsoever in what they might wear to a supermarket. I probably wouldn't even notice.

Times have changed and fortunately anything goes these days. It has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else what I wear.

If anyone calls at my house at any time during the day, I am likely to be wearing PJ's. If they don't like it then t hat is there look out.
Oooh, me too Craft. I also wore a pair of baby doll PJ's to a party in the sixties and no-one knew that they weren't a mini dress. But then I really did do extremely short back then.
madmaggot, me too :o) always makes me smile to see people going to and fro in their night attire, couldn't do it myself. even on the odd occasion when i might use the on-site facilities, i always go fully dressed. much prefer my own on-board shower though, no chance of stepping on anyone else's pubes or something.
prefer nighties.....
I would go to the shower blocks on camp sites in a towelling robe for comfort and convenience. I would just hate to get dressed just to get undressed again a couple of minutes later.
